The studio first started in August 1990. The name of the lab in those days was "Bucks Dental Studio". Like a lot of dental laboratories we used a spare bedroom for the studio and the dirty work was carried out in the garage. The garage was converted to be the studio but it didn't take long to realise that it was too small to take on another technician to help out with the rapidly increasing workload.
Therefore the next move the studio made in February 1995 was to relocate to larger premises in Wooburn Green just a couple of miles away. We stayed in Wooburn Green for 5 years.
The business then moved to the west side of High Wycombe to its present address in Cutlers Court. Cutlers Court used to be a farm, part of the Dashwood estate. Now it's a pleasant courtyard with the old farm house, a large barn and our building which used to be the old dairy.
In April 2004 the studio became a limited company. This was a fun time as a second party, that has control of such matters, would not allow the studio to use the original name, The Bucks Dental Studio. So that's how the name Bucks Oral Design Studio Ltd came about.

Glenn first trained in dental technology at the Royal Dental Hospital. He was there for four years where he gained a City and Guilds certificate in 1976. The work at the hospital was geared more toward the removable prosthesis, so at the end of his 4 years Glenn moved to a lab where he trained in crown and bridge, and eventually became a director of the same laboratory.
In August 1990 Glenn and Janet started The Bucks Dental Studio, and have been running it ever since. Glenn is registered with the GDC as a professional dental technician.

Janet originally trained in the catering industry, starting at Slough College. After gaining her OND she finished her training with an HCIMA diploma.
Janet worked for a number of top catering firms working in places like Porsche cars head office. When Janet and Glenn started the studio she was the expert in management systems, and looked after the book work and accounts, as she still does. Janet also trained to make models from the impressions sent by clients, and now makes all the models.

Jahesh first started his career in dental technology in November 1980, he took the apprentice route. He worked his way through the making of models to manufacturing metal frameworks. When he finished his apprentiship he eventually took charge of the metal department.
Jahesh moved to The Bucks Dental Studio in June 2000, and is in charge of the production of all frameworks, this includes all metalwork, pressable ceramics and all zirconia frameworks. Jahesh has received training in all the implant systems carried out in the studio, and taken courses in advanced milling techniques.Jahesh is also registered with the GDC as a professional dental technician.
